Kunste Onbeperk (meaning Arts Unlimited), the company that hosts the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival and Klein Karoo Klassique, took up residence in the Arbeidsgenot garden on 1 August 2017.
The building that now houses Kunste Onbeperk was initially built as a theatre, but in 2017 the management teams of the Langenhoven Memorial Fund and Kunste Onbeperk decided to join forces. In the garden where Langenhoven used to love to write, one of South Africa’s major annual arts festivals now is planned and managed.
This is probably the first instance of two arts companies collaborating in this way.
Arbeidsgenot may have lost a theatre, in this way has gained many more.
